CHURCHES TOGETHER SUMMER EVENT

On Saturday 15th August 10.00am to 4.00pm there is an 'Urban Fete' in the grounds of the old Grammar School next to the Cathedral. There will be a Bouncy Castle, face painting, hog roast, ice creams, plant stall, tombola, etc. Everyone is welcome to go along.

Central Baptist church can be found on Charles Street next to Kwik Fit. A warm welcome awaits. Don't worry - that bloke doesn't always stand in the pool.

A picture of the minister Chris White Happy holidays! The great British Summer is here again. Well, we are told record numbers have decided to stay within these islands this year. Is it the recession or are people growing weary of the stress of flights, ferries and forwandering? In pre-industrial society the only holidays were Sundays and the Christian festivals. Holy days and holidays were one and the same thing. One can only begin to imagine how precious and special these days were. A picture of the centre in action The Centre Project was opened in 1996 to serve the lonely, vulnerable and single people of the city centre. Our aim is to make people feel valued and to meet individual needs. We offer companionship, people to talk to, basic skills groups with qualifications, cheap meals, activities, outings and also host a special needs group. more ...

Room Bookings

A picture of the Victorai Lounge Central Baptist Church is an excellent location in the heart of the City Centre. We have 5 rooms available for hiring by the public as well as the Church itself. The Victoria Lounge contains a kitchen enabling basic catering. The Charles Room can be used for up to 50 people and is the perfect location for a celebration. more ...
