'or God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3 v.16

If My people shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven.

Pastoral Letters - April 2010

Do you, like me, sometimes neglect your prayer time?

You know what I mean - too busy in the morning, too tired at night, and that usually ends up meaning just too busy.

As we remember Easter, we think of Jesus Christ and see how He needed to pray. He prayed in the garden in an agony of heart and mind, but his friends slept. He prayed on the cross, forsaken, but some of his friends had fled. He rose again 'HALLELUJAH!!!!!' but some friends doubted.

The Reverend Kingsley Appiagyei, President of the Baptist Union, quoted in his sermon at the United Service of Leicester Baptists in January: 'If My people shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven.' That sermon was so moving, may we not forget it too soon.

We have so much to be grateful for already and so much need of God's guidance. Perhaps we could make an Easter gift of at least ten minutes a day in prayer.

God Bless you all.
