Pastoral Letter - September 2009
Dear Friends,
We are going through times of change in so many ways - at home, at work and a shared change at Central.
We said a tearful goodbye to our Minister, Chris, who has given so much in so many ways over the last 16 years. He has moved on, as led by the Lord, and we pray for him to feel the Lord's blessing.
We also have to move on. The Leaders have a responsibility to keep the church building open and to have God's word preached. As a church family we each have a great responsibility to make sure the next Minister is the one God Himself has in mind, and there is a set way of doing this.
The Baptist Union, having been informed, will carefully and prayerfully consider all ministers who are seeking God's guidance to move church or to go to a first church, having completed their time at Bible College. Every effort will be made the B.U. to match the person to this our church.
Some will be invited to come and preach and we all need to be at church to hear them. If it is felt that we have found someone who seems right, he or she will be invited back again. Your input is so very important. If you are a member here your opinion matters, and it must be what the whole church has prayed about before the Lord, and is agreed upon.
We, the Diaconate, need your support, and we in turn will do all we can to support and pray for you.
Wendy Chapman,
Church Secretary
