Fellowship is at the heart of what we believe as baptists. When you first attend Central Baptist Church, we endeavour to welcome you into our family. There are numerous opportunities to get involved in our community. We have regular church lunches and other social activities that are always well attended. Our monthly newsletter is available and is an excellent way to find out about what's happening in the coming month.
With a rich history dating from 1831, and associated to William Carey (with a Carey Museum located in the church premises), we have a deep commitment to global and local mission. We have strong links with BMS, supporting link missionaries in various countries of the world, but also supporting various ecumenical projects in the city. Most of our mission, however, comes in and through the Centre Project. The Centre provides a range of social activities for lonely, socially isolated and vulnerable people. For refugees and asylum seekers living in the city. If you would like to be part of this valuable project, or would like to know more, please visit: www.centreproject.org. Otherwise contact the church for further information and involvement.
For those who are new to the faith and want to commit themselves to Christ, we offer various courses and opportunities for baptism. As we seek to be a healthy and growing church, we encourage all members to attend various groups and activities to strengthen personal discipleship. These groups and activities include: Bible Study (first three Tuesdays of the month, 7:45pm in the Victoria Lounge), Evington Bible Study Group (once a month, Mondays at 10am), Prayer Meeting (last Tuesday of the month, 7:45pm in the Victoria Lounge) and a Prayer Breakfast (second Saturday of the month, 9am in the Victoria Lounge).
Worship is an integral part of being a Christian , and so an integral part of our weekly meetings together.
